American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department night shift role with a strong skillset and an active MD or Compact license required.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department (ED) at a non-trauma hospital
• Treats all age ranges from infants to geriatrics in a high volume, fast-paced ER
• 47-bed department with an average daily census of 130
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
• Night shifts consist of three 12-hour shifts, 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays worked as scheduled
• Floating required within specialty, with travelers prioritized to float
• No on-call required

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH certifications required (AHA only)
• CPI certification required; online Calm Every Storm version accepted
• Two satisfactory professional references needed: one supervisor/manager and one charge RN
• ER experience preferred with a minimum of 2 years, but strong candidates with less experience will be considered
• Must be comfortable floating within the hospital as needed
• Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate

• Holiday coverage is required as assigned
• Block scheduling or specific schedule requests are not permitted
• Return travelers must have a 6-month break from the facility, and former staff must be gone for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Scrub requirements and additional orientation modules will be provided by the hospital upon assignment
• Most assignments allow one extension, followed by a mandatory six-month break before returning
