American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele role requiring NC or compact RN license, EPIC proficiency, and EKG competency.

Details

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit setting
• Primarily serves medical/surgical patients including observation, respiratory conditions, diabetes management, palliative, hospice, psychiatric observation, and post-surgical care
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 pm - 7:00 am)
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
• Call and floating may be required based on unit needs
• Uses EPIC EMR system with prior experience required

Requirements

• Active NC or compact state RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Passing an EKG exam during onboarding is mandatory, with two attempts allowed
• Previous charge RN experience preferred but not required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Additional Information

• Main duties include caring for a diverse med/surg patient population including observation, respiratory, diabetic, psychiatric, and end-of-life cases
• All travelers may be asked to float to other units or campuses as needed
• Modules completed during orientation (unit-based, average 2-4 hours)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Holiday and weekend coverage is required as needed
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences is enforced
