Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least two years of recent ED experience and an active compact or state RN license.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a large, short-term acute care hospital
• Level I Trauma Center serving diverse emergency cases
• Night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• On-call and weekend shifts are required as needed
• Block scheduling is generally not accommodated, though weekend block may be considered
• RNs may float between like units and campuses within 20 miles, though cross-campus floating is rare
• Uses Cerner EMR; prior Cerner experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state or compact license required (no pending licenses accepted; must comply with NLC guidelines)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience; 3+ years preferred
• At least one completed previous travel assignment is required
• ADN or higher nursing degree accepted
• Driver’s license required for consideration
• Large hospital experience preferred
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility (strict radius rule)
• All time-off requests must be included at the time of initial application
• Vaccination status must be provided

Additional Information

• RNs are expected to provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced Level I Trauma environment
• Must be willing to work at least two out of three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) if all fall within assignment; if only two holidays, at least one must be covered
• First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 3+ years of recent experience and at least one prior travel assignment
• Former permanent and internal employees must have at least one year separation before returning as a traveler
• Compliance with strict documentation and credentialing requirements is mandatory
