American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a hospital-wide float pool role, requiring 3 years of recent experience in ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health.

Details

• Work as part of the Nursing Resource Team, floating hospital-wide to ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health (adult acute, youth acute, addiction recovery) units
• Care for a wide range of patient populations including medical-surgical, behavioral health, addiction recovery, progressive care, emergency, and critical care
• Unit bed sizes range from 21-35, with ratios: ICU 1:1-2, Med/Surg & ED boarded Med/Surg 1:5-6, PCU 1:3-4, Behavioral Health 1:5-6 days / 1:10 overnights
• Uses KBH/YA Restraint boards and lifts; training provided during onboarding
• Schedules are for 12-hour shifts (07:00-19:30 or 19:00-07:30), with every other weekend required
• Mid-shift floating between units may occur as needed
• Assignment unit is communicated two hours prior to each shift

Requirements

• Active ID or Compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program (BSN highly preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in each of the following areas: ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health/Psych (adult acute, youth acute, addiction recovery)
• Experience with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation required
• Completion of Department of Health & Welfare background fingerprinting due to behavioral health floating
• Must reside outside of a 50-mile radius from the facility

• Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of nursing care across a wide range of settings
• Assist physicians during exams and procedures and conduct various patient tests
• Promote patient independence by establishing care goals and teaching self-care skills
• Teamwork with a variety of clinical teams within the hospital is essential
• Comprehensive onboarding includes training on restraints, lifts, and behavioral health procedures
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Unit provides hospital-wide float experience through a tier 4 float cluster orientation
• Every other weekend coverage is expected
• First-time travelers are not specified as accepted or declined
