American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night-shift Med/Surg Orthopedic unit with charge capability, ortho experience, and EPIC proficiency required.

Details

• Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical Orthopedic unit
• Treats patients with total joint replacements, ortho spine surgeries, and other orthopedic conditions
• Utilizes equipment such as bladder scanners, Hoyer lifts, and orthopedic braces
• Uses the EPIC electronic medical record system
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week (19:00 - 07:00)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floats to other inpatient units including rehab, post-op trauma, ortho neuro trauma, med-surg, oncology, and observation

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or LA) in hand upon consideration
• Minimum of 2 years' Med/Surg orthopedic nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Current AHA-approved ACLS and BLS certifications required
• EPIC system experience required
• Must live more than 65 miles from the facility
• Candidates who have worked as perm staff or in-house agency contractors at Ochsner Health must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• No first-time travelers will be considered

Additional Information

• Assignment may include being part of an Emergency Team during hurricane season, requiring in-facility presence when storms occur
• Must be comfortable working in a region impacted by hurricanes during the assignment period
• Must not request more than 2 weeks of RTO (requested time off)
• Orientation includes online modules and is provided at the start of the assignment
