Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with at least three years of recent critical care experience and multiple specialty certifications for a 13-week day-shift assignment.

Details

• Position is in the ICU/CCU unit of a hospital
• Day shifts, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30
• Care for adult critical care patients with multi-system issues including cardiac, renal, respiratory, and neurological conditions
• Possible float to DOU, Tele, or Med Tele units
• Every other weekend work is required
• Must be willing to work holidays

Requirements

• Active RN license in CA required at the time of consideration
• Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, and either MAB or VIP
• Proficiency in FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multi-system organ failure, and titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), and hypothermia/Arctic Sun protocol
• Ability to manage central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, and blood product administration
• Skilled in phlebotomy, wound vacs, chest tube assistance, and care of ventilated patients
• Current references required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing complex critical care patients, performing advanced monitoring procedures, and administering emergency medications
• Adherence to infection prevention and isolation protocols is required
• Completion of pre-employment clinical and non-clinical modules is required prior to start
• Report to work in accordance with facility dress code and PPE protocols
• No more than 3 days of requested time off allowed and none permitted in the first two weeks
• Once time off is submitted, changes can only be made to cancel requested days
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Return staff eligibility is subject to review on a case-by-case basis
