Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position on a night shift with strong telemetry and cardiac skills required.

Details

• Work in a 32-bed Progressive Care Unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes CHF, dysrhythmia, chest pain, stroke, abdominal illnesses, respiratory illness, diabetes, acute/chronic kidney injury, ETOH withdrawal, and IVDA
• Typical RN patient ratio is 1:4, occasionally 1:5 based on acuity
• 12-hour night shifts beginning at 7pm with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Required to work every other weekend and cover at least 75% of holidays
• Floating required to multiple facilities within Region 3, within scope of practice; floating mid-shift compensated for travel time
• No on-call or call-back responsibilities
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors

Requirements

• Active RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 18 months of recent PCU RN experience required
• Experience with tracheostomy care, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care, and central line management required
• Epic EMR experience preferred

• Family-oriented unit culture with support from CNAs, an on-shift charge nurse, 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and intensivist teams
• CNAs assist with ADLs and phlebotomy is available for draws
• Must wear navy scrubs while on shift
