American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an LDRP position requiring strong fetal monitoring interpretation and recent acute care experience.

Details

• Work in an acute care Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit
• Unit features 15 beds (7 L&D, 8 Postpartum) and 1 C-section OR suite
• Average 58 births per month with a patient population consisting mainly of obstetric and neonate cases, including hypertension and GDM
• 1:1 nurse-patient ratio for patients on pitocin, magnesium, or insulin drips, and 1:3 for couplet care
• Utilizes Meditech EMR, Philips tele monitors, and Traceview/PIP EFM system
• 12-hour day shifts with call, every third weekend, and every other holiday required
• Floating to MedSurg and ER may be required, with permanent staff floating first
• Block scheduling is available but self-scheduling is not

Requirements

• Active RN license (State or Compact) in hand; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years recent LDRP or labor & delivery experience
• Certifications required: BLS and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Ability to read and interpret fetal monitoring strips independently
• Previous travel experience required
• Must be able to titrate pitocin, insulin, and magnesium drips
• References required: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years
• Applicants cannot have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity, in the past 12 months
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include caring for laboring and postpartum mothers and neonates, titrating drips, and managing common OB complications
• Team includes charge nurses and CNAs for support; charge nurse also takes a patient assignment
• Scrub color is maroon; scrubs provided and must change into facility scrubs on the unit
• Up to 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• RTO must be provided up front; additional RTO after submission will not be approved
• Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required
• Candidates may be required to take call, depending on staffing needs
