American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III Trauma ICU position requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and advanced certifications.

Details

• Position based in a large hospital ICU (40 beds) with a patient ratio of 1:1-3
• Patient population includes ventilated patients, stroke and thrombectomy cases, opti-flow, Bipap, overdose, CRRT, GI bleeds, and some trauma
• General ICU procedures include critical care drips, vent management, invasive lines, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood product administration, and wound care
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, and specialized equipment such as Arctic Sun and Belmont rapid transfuser
• Required to float within multiple facilities in Region 1 and within scope of practice
• Day shift schedule (0700-1900) with every other weekend rotation
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience in Level III Trauma, stroke, cardiac, and general ICU care necessary
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive ICU patient care, management of ventilators and invasive lines, and complex medication administration
• Support from CNAs, charge nurse present 24/7, RT and intensivist coverage at all times
• RNs responsible for phlebotomy duties with limited hospital support
• Telemetry monitoring involves hardwire and travel tele boxes
• Structured orientation includes facility orientation and 2 days of departmental training
• Scrub color is navy
• Free designated parking provided
• Strong team culture on both day and night shifts
• Up to 6 days off approved RTO, excluding holidays
• Holiday coverage and floating flexibility are mandatory
