American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at an outpatient surgery center requiring strong OR experience and proficiency with multispecialty surgical cases.

Details

• Work is based in an outpatient surgery center affiliated with a teaching hospital
• Role covers pre-op, PACU, and circulating duties across multispecialty surgical services
• Care provided to both adults and pediatric patients aged 6 months to 80 years
• Common case types include ENT, orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, urology, plastics, oculoplastics, and sports medicine
• Three operating room facility averaging 15 patients per day
• Full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, four 10-hour day shifts from 0630 to 1700
• No weekend, holiday, call, or floating requirements
• EPIC EMR is used, with experience preferred
• Use of advanced surgical technologies including Davinci XI, Arthrex, Smith & Nephew, Karl Storz, Megadyne, Hologic Fluent Management System, Cool Seal, and Stryker Tourniquets

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent operating room RN experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Experience with perioperative and circulating nurse duties
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Strong interdisciplinary communication skills
• First-time travelers are not accepted

• Duties include PIV starts, medication administration, assisting anesthesia with nerve blocks, discharge teaching, airway management, and specimen management
• Team structure includes support from OR manager, float team, anesthesiologist, CRNA, surgeons, nurse manager, and nurse quality manager
