American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position requiring 2 years of LDRP experience and current BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP certifications.

Details

• Work in the Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit of a large teaching hospital with Level I Trauma designation
• Unit has 18 beds and serves high-risk postpartum mothers
• RN to patient ratio is 1:4 for postpartum care of mothers only
• Types of patients include high-risk postpartum, postpartum hemorrhage, preeclampsia/eclampsia, infections, diabetes management, NICU mothers, fetal demise deliveries, and GYN overflow
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
• Night shift from 1900 to 0700 with every other weekend rotation
• No call or call-back requirements
• Required to float within the designated region, including multiple area facilities, as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (standard or compact) required
• Minimum of 2 years recent LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP certifications required
• Experience with postpartum assessments, magnesium drips, glucose control (SQ insulin), blood transfusions, preeclampsia management with IV medications, breast pumping assistance, and PCA management required
• Experience with Epic EMR required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive care for postpartum mothers, including complex high-risk situations and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
• Support from CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, RT, hospitalists, intensivists, attending/MFM, OB providers, anesthesia/CRNA, and unit educators is provided
• Department and facility orientation includes NEO and two days of unit-specific training
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays as part of their assignment
• Navy scrubs are required
