American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position at an academic Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring at least one year of recent CVICU experience and current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

• Work in a 22-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes surgical and medical cardiac critical care cases, such as post-CABG, valve repairs, Impella, IABP management, and thoracic aortic aneurysms
• RN to patient ratio is 1:2 in the ICU
• Shifts are nights, 7:00pm to 7:00am, with every other weekend required
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
• Floats required within other critical care departments, including PCU (1:3 ratio) and MS (1:4 ratio)
• Uses Epic EMR (Epic experience preferred), Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, and CRRT (Nexstage) equipment
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU experience
• Experience with post-cardiac assessment and circulatory support devices such as ISBP, Impella, LVAD, ECMO
• Competency in titrating vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medications, interpreting cardiac waveforms, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• CCRN certification preferred
• First-time travelers accepted if CVICU experience is met

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, receptionists, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and intensivists available 24/7
• Department provides support for ADLs, blood sugars, vital signs, transport, and unit management
• Nurses must wear royal blue scrubs

• New staff receive one week of NEO plus 2-3 days of departmental orientation
