Job Details
- Work in a hospital endoscopy department with a focus on GI procedures
- Shift is 0700-1530, Monday through Friday
- On-call required: up to 2 weeknights and 2 weekend days per contract, with a 45-minute callback time
- May float to other facilities within the organization as needed
- Perform procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, PEG tube placement, bronchoscopy, esophageal stent, and pain procedures
- Must be able to perform moderate sedation
- EPIC EMR is used for charting and perioperative admissions and discharges
Job Requirements
- Current and active Illinois RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant endoscopy nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Proficiency with specified endoscopy procedures
- Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care during all phases of endoscopy procedures
- Admit and discharge patients in the perioperative area
- Use clinical judgment to assess and respond to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Maintain accurate medical records and participate in continuing education
- Professional communication skills are expected to foster a positive workplace environment
- On-call staff must be able to report onsite within 45 minutes when called
- Facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts per 13-week contract for low census or other needs
