Job Details
- Work in a long-term care and skilled nursing facility with both long-term and rehabilitation units
- Care for residents with Alzheimer's/dementia and patients recovering from surgery, fractures, joint replacements, or stroke
- Units include 31-bed Alzheimer's/dementia care, 42-bed short-term rehab, and 42-bed long-term care
- Common duties include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment
- Shifts may be days (7a-7p) or nights (7p-7a)
- Flexibility to float to other units as needed
- Must be available to work every other weekend if required by the department manager or supervisor
Job Requirements
- Active Maine or compact LPN license required if applicable
- Associate’s degree in nursing or graduation from a Maine State Board approved LPN course
- 1-3 years prior RN or LPN experience preferred
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills required
- Able to cover 24/7 schedule as needed
- Must not have licensure issues or previous employment at the facility
- Fifty (50) mile radius rule applies for eligibility
Additional Information
- Partner with residents and care team to provide a safe, therapeutic environment
- Provide direct and indirect care, including managing difficult behaviors in dementia patients
- Support a home-like environment tailored to resident needs
- Medical terminology proficiency preferred
- Holiday coverage may be required based on facility needs
- Facility may cancel up to three shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census or staffing changes
- A maximum of two consecutive 13-week assignments allowed before a 26-week break is required
- Scrub or dress code requirements were not specified
