The average age of the nation’s 2.9 million nurses is 47; travel nurse jobs infuse life into exhausted but qualified RNs...
Boca Raton, FL – Nov. 2006 — Healthcare staffing firm American Traveler has the solution for RNs suffering from everyday burnout…hit the road traveling. While the industry-wide nursing shortage continues to plague hospitals across the nation, American Traveler offers nurse professionals an alternative to quitting or retiring early.
"Traveling rejuvenates careers and puts zeal back in everyday life," says American Traveler CEO, Robert L. Bok. "Nurses work three days a week and vacation the other four, while others mold schedules around career advancement and new found social agendas. This becomes particularly important as individuals begin to age and wish to work less and have more time to relax and pursue other activities.”
“I’ve been trying to get the courage to become a travel nurse my whole life,” said mid-fifties mom Kathy Shuler, an American Traveler success story who recently transitioned to the more flexible travel nurse lifestyle. “Taking the leap has been wonderful for me, and with the American Traveler referral bonus program extra cash keeps rolling in,” said Shuler, who recently worked at a prestigious children's hospital in Washington, D.C. and who travels the country with daughter Julia.

Area
Facts/Things to Do:
Better known as the ‘crown jewel of the Gulf Coast,’ Naples boasts tons of great restaurants, miles of sandy beach, and a social climate fit for the tropics. Shopping is extraordinary here from local boutiques to world-class designer shops.
Natures’ wonders are all around Naples. “Alligator Alley” is your roadway to the Everglades, and a small craft or long swim gets you snorkeling and diving to beautiful coastal reefs and mangrove ecosystems. This little slice of paradise has more than 35 golf courses, tennis courts everywhere, and charter boats which leave on the hour to snag a Sail Fish or Marlin on the high seas.
Local fare fuels creative chefs here on the southwest peninsula and dining soon becomes a favorite pastime. Outside of that, there are great musicians, artists, actors, and painters all around town, and the Philharmonic Center for the Arts is close by. Disney World is up the road only a few hours by car and Fort Lauderdale and South Beach even closer. Need we say more?
Call your Consultant today to spend your cold snowy winters in warm sunny Naples.

It could be one of the best bad habits you’ll never want to kick. Get to know our housing coordinators. You’ll be impressed. 800-884-8788. |

Bikers, Bakers & Kids
It was Thanksgiving like never before as Harley Owners Group Chapter 0062 delivered T-day dinners to under-privileged families throughout South Florida. The Fort Lauderdale biker troupe, accompanied by none other than our own Clinical Coordinator and Documentation Manager, Jenny Schuler RN, teamed up with the culinary experts at the Fort Lauderdale Art Institute and the Broward County Sheriffs Department to bring turkey, vegetables, potatoes, and stuffing to those who need it most. In the spirit of giving, bikers roared through neighborhoods drawing residents from homes and smiles from hungry faces. “The families were extremely grateful and the kids loved the motorcycles,” said Jenny. “The event touched all our hearts, reminding us of everything that we are thankful for.” |

RJ Ball
Former campaign director and seasoned American Traveler Consultant, RJ Ball, is an expert in helping new prospects launch successful travel careers. “Be patient with getting your first assignment and don’t feel overwhelmed,” RJ tells new clients. “It gets easier every time.”
RJ gets to the core of a client’s personal and professional objectives by listening to their needs and assessing their skill set and personality. “My goal is to set them up with the right assignment in a perfect location,” he said. One American Traveler from Africa is always teaching RJ new things about her culture. “Each time we talk she educates me on history and daily life on a continent I haven’t been to and know very little about,” said RJ.
As a top consultant for American Traveler, RJ has logged quite a few travel hours and openly shares experiences with others. “I’ve been to so many different parts of the country—know the hot spots and ‘best kept secrets,’ he said. “Helping travelers find their way around town is a specialty of mine,” said RJ. |
