Best Hospitals 2015 - 2016

The mission of U.S.. News & World Report for the last several years has been to recognize institutions that deal with the toughest procedures and conditions and utilize the latest advances in healthcare.

Honor Roll

The Best Hospitals rankings are updated every July. They are grouped into 16 individual specialty lists. Only a few of the thousands of hospitals evaluated for the 2015-16 rankings qualified for a spot in the publication's Honor Roll. To earn a spot in this elite group, which rewards breadth of excellence, a hospital must achieve high scores in six or more specialties. The order is based on points -- hospitals with the highest scores in a given specialty receive two points; those with slightly lower scores receive one point.

  2. Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.: 29 points in 15 specialties
