American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Diagnostic Cardiology position requiring an active NC or compact license and 2 years of cardiac nursing experience.

Details

• Work within the Cardiology - Stress diagnostic unit of an academic medical center with Level 1 Trauma designation
• Facility features a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
• Patient population includes heart failure and advanced cardiac diagnostics such as TTE, TEE, and Stress Echo studies
• Also involves chemotherapy and renal transplant evaluations
• Unit performs approximately 110 comprehensive studies per day, 14 stress/stress echo/DobSE/NucCard/tilt studies per day, and 5-6 TEEs per day
• Day shift schedule, weekdays 7:45am-4:45pm with a 1 hour lunch, totaling 40 hours per week
• Rotational weekend coverage based on unit needs
• Holiday coverage required depending on unit needs
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• No floating requirements
• Uses EPIC (Encompass) EMR
• Utilizes Philips and GE echo equipment, GE CASE stress lab, and Philips ISCV reporting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with cardiac specialty required
• Skills required include TEEs, stress testing, EKG interpretation, IV management, cardioversion, mild sedation, and infusion experience
• Must provide last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Perform advanced cardiac diagnostic procedures including TTE, TEE, Stress Echo, and Dobutamine Stress Echo studies
• Work alongside a team including 5 RNs, 2 Exercise Physiologists, and 19 Echo Sonographers (including satellite locations)
• Department includes a dedicated Cardiac Ultrasound Educator and Chief Sonographer for support
• Orientation includes facility-wide NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
• Scrub requirement: purple tops (not eggplant), black pants or skirts, and purple or black warm-up jackets
• Department culture is patient/family-focused, fast-paced, and academic with a balance of portable and in-lab studies
• Parking is free and assigned

• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Previous employees must be separated from any Advocate Health Southeast facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position
