American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Postpartum/Mother-Baby travel assignment in Denver, CO, requiring a minimum of 1 year of acute care postpartum experience and current NRP certification.

Details

• Located on the 3 North unit (Postpartum/Mother-Baby) of a main hospital building in Denver, CO
• 23-bed unit with approximately 80 staff members across mom/baby
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 2–3 CNAs, 9–10 RNs on the floor, and 3–4 RNs in the nursery
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 9–10 RNs on the floor, and 2–3 RNs in the nursery
• Patient ratios are approximately 3–4:1
• EMR system: Meditech/CPN
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CO or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA or ARC accepted) and NRP (AAP Advanced 9th Edition) required — certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care Postpartum/Mother-Baby experience required
• At least 2 years of total clinical experience required
• SSN (US only, no Canadian) and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, administering medications, managing perineal care, and educating parents on newborn care, safety, and bonding
• Strong communication with staff and providers is a priority on this unit
• Ideal candidates are compassionate, patient, team-oriented, and able to adapt quickly to new environments
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• First-time travelers are not mentioned as accepted; prior travel or strong adaptability is preferred
