Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Orthopedic Med/Surg position requiring at least 2 years of ortho and trauma experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a hospital orthopedic unit focusing on pre-op and post-op ortho care
• Patient population includes elective and trauma ortho cases such as total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:6 with the potential to stretch to 1:7
• Night shifts with a 3x12 schedule (7:00pm - 7:00am)
• Every other weekend required
• One holiday and one evening during the holiday period required
• No call requirements
• Use of Safe Patient Handling equipment and ortho devices such as CPM, knee immobilizer, and bone foam
• EPIC EMR experience is required
• May work with rapid response teams

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• At least 2 years of recent orthopedic and trauma RN experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Experience with hospital electronic medical records (EPIC) required
• Must pass a mandatory EKG exam during compliance, with two attempts allowed
• No first-time travelers will be considered
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility

• Will be responsible for monitoring surgical patients and responding to rapid response situations as needed
• Holiday coverage is required for one holiday and one evening during the holiday period

• Strict attendance policy with zero tolerance for tardiness or unexcused absences
