Best Hospitals 2011 - 2012
The mission of U.S. News & World Report for the last several years has been to recognize institutions that deal with the toughest procedures and conditions and utilize the latest advances in healthcare.
Honor Roll
U.S. News analyzed data on nearly 5,000 hospitals, virtually every facility in the United States, in 16 specialties. Only a few of the thousands of hospitals evaluated for the 2011-12 rankings qualified for a spot in the publication's Honor Roll. To earn a spot in this elite group, which rewards breadth of excellence, a hospital must achieve high scores in six or more specialties. The order is based on points -- hospitals with the highest scores in a given specialty receive two points; those with slightly lower scores receive one point.
