Amy L., an OR Tech for the last 10 years, is sharing her clinical expertise with Greater Honolulu, Hawaii and loving every minute of it! Amy is a seasoned American Traveler with 4 assignments under her belt: nursing jobs along the Oregon coast of Seaside and Clakamas, Salt Lake City and now the beautiful island of Oahu, where she lives in travel nurse housing, a stone’s throw from Waikiki Beach. Amy’s Picks for Top Hawaiian Attractions: The following are Polynesian points-of-interest that Hawaiian bound travel nurses won’t want to miss! Best Views: The Diamond Head decorates the Waikiki Coastline so that the area is a living post card—Amy can see the view from her studio high rise, where she also drinks in views of a huge, emerald green golf course. Best Restaurants: Mike Huli Huli Chicken is the most delicious local food truck in town and worth the trek even if you don’t have a car. It’s no big deal to rent a car on your day off and enjoy the menu as part of your beach-bound day! Another favorite restaurant is Kahuku Grill on the North Shore—best [+]

Some nurses are already here, enjoying all the sun, fun and cool things to do in the Sunshine State with travel nurse jobs in Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, Orlando and Miami. In fact, the local newspaper, The Sun-sentinel reported recently that online help wanted ads in the state are up 14% – almost double that of the Northeast or Western U.S. regions.

Travel Nurse jobs in Fort Lauderdale, FL brings you excitement and fun! Watch Video below

"Every one of our hospitals said they were busier this year than last and now most are ramping up for winter staffing. Travel nurse jobs for summer have been continuous and the upcoming tourist season looks very promising." said Clinical Account Manager for American Traveler, Debbie Bacurin, RN.

Why are nurse jobs in Florida up over other parts of the country? For starters, Florida is a retirement state. With more Baby Boomers than ever approaching their golden years nurses, no doubt, will be put to work. Second, many hospitals and health care systems in the state have retooled staffing budgets to include more temporary help, keeping nurse supply close to bedside demand. Travel nurses enjoy a Florida spring appreciation party, and it was our pleasure to see the return of wonderful stories about the travel nurse lifestyle and other rewards found along the nursing career path. Our guests came together in Boynton Beach, where good food and camaraderie passed the night. We hope you’ll enjoy a few of the photographs saved from this event, where door prizes and goody bags were on the menu too. An Exclusive Travel Nurse Interview It was our pleasure this summer to catch up with Rhonda Ward, R.N., who is enjoying a travel nurse job in Juneau, Alaska right now. A registered nurse for over 20 years and currently working in Endoscopy, Rhonda opened up about the travel nurse lifestyle, and why it’s so special. AT: Is this trip to Alaska your first travel nurse assignment? RW: No, this Alaska travel nurse job is my second, but my first with American Traveler. I’m really liking it so far and would love to extend, maybe work in a Hawaii nursing job next. I’ve had the opportunity to see a lot of the Pacific Northwest this summer, and that’s why I wouldn’t mind staying.
