Job Description:

A Case Management Registered Nurse coordinates short and long-term care for patients. The R.N.'s goal in a case management travel nursing job is to manage or oversee patient care/treatment to reduce stays in the hospital as well as to ensure quality and appropriate follow up care; this prevents readmission into the facility. The Case Management travel nurse job will entail working with specific groups of patients, such as people diagnosed with HIV/AIDS or cancer. RNs in case management nursing jobs may choose to focus on a certain age group of patients, and settle into pediatrics or geriatrics specialties. R.N.s in this job must be able to research and understand the latest treatments and procedures, as well as be able to work with insurance companies to help patients receive the best and most affordable care.
