Job Description:

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse provides care to patients experiencing existing or potential problems in the GI tract. The RN will assist the physician in using the endoscope, to get an inside look at the lining of the esophagus, stomach and intestines; the endoscopy RN will also assist in gathering samples during procedures, and treating minor problems. The R.N. in this travel nursing job may potentially treat patients of all ages, and see a range in severity of illness, from very minor and co-morbidities, to critically ill. The ideal candidate for this travel nurse job has had previous hospital experience in medical-surgical, pediatric, or critical care units. He or she demonstrates the ability to use critical thinking and time-management skills in the workplace; it will behoove the Endoscopy nursing job candidate to have excellent technical skills.
