Salaries and Bonuses

American Travelers enjoy exceptional salaries and cash bonuses on every assignment. With thousands of positions available, we are able to selectively offer those assignments that meet your salary requirements as well as geographical requests. Typically, the hourly salary range is $22- $43 per hour. At many locations, Completion Bonuses are also offered. These vary between $500 - $12,000 and are paid at the end of the assignment. Don't forget that many of our hospitals pay Double Overtime as well!

Our travelers take assignments for many reasons, some of the most frequently requested assignments are those that offer compensation packages significantly higher than those available on permanent or per diem positions. Imagine making over $28 per hour, with a large Completion Bonus and enjoying your own Free Private Apartment, Free Health, Dental and Life Insurance, AAA Membership Subsidy, Reimbursed Licensure and more! Travelers earn on average compensation of over $70,000 and when including the other benefits described above such as free housing and health insurance, it is a total compensation package of well over $100,000 a year!

Completion Bonuses

Completion Bonuses are offered at many assignments as an additional income over and above the stated hourly salary. Bonuses range from $500 - $12,000 at selected locations! These completion bonuses are paid at the successful completion of the assignment. For Travelers motivated to increase their annual incomes, this is considered an enormous benefit!

Double Overtime

For Travelers working over their normal 36 or 40-hour workweek, overtime is calculated at the standard rate of time and a half. On many assignments, American Traveler pays DOUBLE OVERTIME. This means if the salary is $26 per hour, the overtime rate is $52 per hour! Your Consultant will detail this benefit when presenting the "Ultimate Travel Assignment!"

Free Group Health, Dental and Life Insurance

American Traveler offers Free First Day* Comprehensive Health, Dental and Life Insurance to all of our on staff Travelers.  We believe this valuable benefit offers the peace of mind of obtaining preventive and routine care, physicals and treatment of ailments should they arise. In addition to Health Insurance, this free coverage also includes Dental and Life Insurance. It is flexible to meet your needs, and you can add dependents.

Because of our size, we can offer this premier plan by one of the most highly regarded insurance companies in the nation. This benefit is highly regarded and a very valuable benefit to all of our employees. If you would prefer to continue under your existing health insurance plan, we will assist in subsidizing the expense of the health insurance you already have in place. We refer to this benefit as Health Insurance Subsidy.

* First Day Insurance Coverage is defined as beginning on the first day of the   calendar month after the assignment start date.

Licensure Reimbursement

American Traveler provides full reimbursement of your State Nursing Licensure for every travel assignment! For additional support, our Client Services Representatives will offer their expert assistance and service in helping you obtain your State Nursing License. For proper planning, Travelers can expect licenses to take as little as one day in a "Walk Through" State or it may take several weeks or longer to obtain licensure by some of the State Boards of Nursing. CEU Reimbursement

American Traveler provides unlimited annual CEU credits to our Travelers on assignment! The continuing education health program includes more than 200 continuing education courses that are available to Nurses and Allied Health Professionals. Take your credit hours online and print a certificate of completion, immediately!

One of the most exciting additions to the course selections is a credit now meeting the Joint Commission standards for Age Specific Competency Education. This two hour course is one of the first available anywhere for nurses to meet accreditation standards! American Traveler urges all of our nurses to take advantage of this course offering right away.

This program ensures our Travelers will be paid full time pay in the unlikely event of shift cancellations by the hospital.
